Topping this week’s list of newly available titles is the 2nd edition of the Ernest Thode’s popular research aid, Genealogy at a Glance: German Genealogy Research. Whereas the original edition of “German Genealogy Research” was issued in 2011, the 2nd edition incorporates all the major changes in German genealogy over the past decade, including all the new databases and Internet sites now available to the genealogist. Like the original, the 2nd edition guides the researcher through German records with maximum efficiency, then brings him to the American side of the story with an outline of German emigration patterns and a pinpoint guide to the massive body of German-American records most in use today.
Genealogy at a Glance. Scottish Genealogy Research, by immigration expert Dr. David Dobson, is also available in a new edition. Recognized as the best brief research aid on that country, the revised edition reflects, for example, the merger of the General Register Office for Scotland (GROS) and the National Archives of Scotland (NAS) to form the National Records of Scotland, as well as the release of the 1911 Scottish census.
Also available in April are three genealogy standards, now in paperback,
