The new three-volume, Second Edition of The Royal Descents of 900 Immigrants to the American Colonies, Quebec, or the United States is remarkable in a number of respects. As we have noted previously, Mr. Roberts has added twenty-three new immigrants to the opus, revised the lines of twelve others, and made improvements to about half the pages in the original two-volume work. He has not been content to produce an improved and expanded collection of descendancies alone, however; instead, the first 200 pages of the work includes, among other things, a bibliographical essay on the 20th-century researchers who built much of the scholarship upon which RD 900 is based. In another chapter, he identifies all 84 kings from whom he has traced royal descent. Roberts has even included references to royal lines that were identified after the index to the Second Edition was completed.
