THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO FAMILY TREEDNA

British genealogist Jane Roberts writes the blog, Past to Present Genealogy. Ms. Roberts devoted her posting of January 23, 2025, to a lengthy review of Roberta Estes’ book, The Complete Guide to Family TreeDNA. CLICK HERE to read the full review.

One aspect of the review that readers will appreciate is her discussion of the different the book’s different formats:: a full color print edition, full color eBook edition with live URLs, and the less expensive black and white print edition which is available with a free download of about 25 pages in full color.

The opening sentences of the review were music to our ears:

“This is the book I wish I’d had nine years ago when dad and I tested with FamilyTreeDNA. It is now proving invaluable in helping me finally navigate our tests in an informed way. I’ve also been reminded about biobanking which means, even though dad died a few years ago, I can upgrade and expand his tests – and crucially know how to understand and make best use of the results.

Written by DNA expert Roberta Estes, who you may know as the author of the DNAeXplained blog, it is 247 pages packed with information to help you choose which FamilyTreeDNA test is right for you, and to ensure you get the most out of your test results.”

If you are still on the fence about whether to buy, or which version of The Complete Guide to Family TreeDNA to purchase, we commend the entire review for your consideration.
