The Complete Guide to Lineage Societies

We’ve written previously about our new guidebook, The Complete Guide to Lineage Societies, by Dr. Kimberly Nagy. In scarcely 80 pages, Dr. Nagy tells you everything you need to know if you’ve ever wondered about becoming a member of a lineage society. She begins with a description of what lineage societies have in common, what they aim to do, how to find the right society for yourself, and the various eligibility requirements. Next comes a detailed explanation of the application process, including how and where to go about assembling the genealogical evidence for membership. The author also portrays some examples of the social, cultural, and patriotic activities undertaken by lineage societies

Two other features of The Complete Guide to Lineage Societies will save readers hours of time in deciding which society is a” best fit” for them and in proving their qualifications for membership. First, in Appendix A to the book, Dr. Nagy cites the websites, purpose, and membership requirements of nearly sixty societies located in the U.S., Canada, and abroad. She follows this with a list of some of the most important published sources you should consult to establish your membership. To further illustrate the benefits of these features, we have included two sample pages from the Appendix for your consideration. View Book Details
