The March 2026 issue of the National Genealogical Society Quarterly includes reviews of four of our recent publications.  We want to share two of those reviews with you today.

Elizabeth Williams Gomoll, C.G. reviewed Cheri Hudson Passey’s Genealogy in Reverse. Finding the Living: A Practical Guide for All Genealogists, predicting that, “Many genealogists will thank Passey for this volume” which “is packed with practical suggestions for finding living people.”  Ms. Gomoll also believes that, “Even experienced genealogists will benefit from a two-page chapter with advice on approaching family members hesitant to provide information about living relatives.”

Reviewer Beth A. Stahr, CG reviewed the new book by Elizabeth Shown Mills, Your Stripped Bare Guide to Citing & Using History Sources, a distillation of that author’s more comprehensive (and potentially intimidating)  Evidence Explained: Citing History Sources from Artifacts to Cyberspace. According to Ms. Stahr, “This new smaller guide continues Mills’s previous exemplary work in genealogical analysis and citation.”  Noting that the new book’s size is perfect for packing on a research trip, she concludes, “The Guide is highly recommended for anyone interested in critical analysis of historical sources and for understanding logical citation for those sources.”
