Compiled from a variety of county court records, these notes treat a total of 4,000 persons who lived in the contiguous Alabama counties of Bibb, Clarke, Dallas, Greene, Hales, Marengo, Monroe, Perry, Shelby, Sumter, and Wilcox (see also Item 1681).
